Downslope’s rye whiskey is made from an 80% rye 20% malted barley. Flaked rye gives a heavy glucan protein content to the brew, which results in a viscous, oily final spirit. Heavy rye spice complimented by barley sweetness. Look for gingerbread, cinnamon and a thick mouthfeel to smooth out the alcohol.
"This craft-produced rye has a deep amber hue and rich caramel aroma, while the brawny palate is drying and very woody, rounding into dusty clove and cinnamon spice, finishing with a surprising hint of red fruit." - Kara Newman - Wine Enthusiast (90 Points)
